National Council for Gender Parity evaluates progress to reduce the economic gap for women


Officials who work as inspectors of the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development (MITRADEL), were trained and sensitized this Wednesday, May 26, 2021, by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), on labor rights, fundamental and Ethics of Foreign Migrants.

In his intervention, the National Inspection Director, Carlos Landero, indicated that in the field, inspectors are in charge of maintaining MITRADEL's relations with unions, employers and citizens who consult on activities that have to do with fundamental rights. Given this, during the current administration of the National Government, no complaints have been received against the inspectors for violation of the rights of migrant workers.

"Respect for the rights of migrant workers, whether with or without the proper work permit, has to be a fundamental rule of ethical conduct for all public servants, starting with labor inspectors," said Landero. .

According to an IOM report on migration, there are more than 272 million migrants in the world, some of whom move to seek a better quality of life, others due to asylum requests, evacuations due to natural disasters, armed conflicts. and in the case of women in recent years, due to domestic violence.
