Until May 31, the deadline for liquidation of the General State Budget 2020 is extended

The Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic and the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), agreed to extend until May 31, 2021, the deadline for the liquidation of the General State Budget for fiscal 2020.

The MEF-Comptroller's agreement will facilitate the completion of the processing of the accounts accrued to date and the official records of the liquidation of the General State Budget 2020 that would have expired on April 30, says Circular MEF-2021-22834.

“The process extends one more month so that the institutions that have not completed the payment exercise, can do so since to date there are pending procedures for more than B /. 940 million ”, explained the National Director of Inspection of the Comptroller's Office, Jorge Luis Quijada.

The decision takes into consideration that for the 2020 budget closing, accrued reserves of B /. 1,449.0 million and special reserves for B /. 121.7 million, Quijada added. Both entities adopted the measure by recognizing the unusual volume of paperwork in the midst of the sanitary measures established to contain the spread of Covid-19, which has limited the expeditious and timely registration of these transactions.
