Panama is re-elected to the board of AZFA


Ámbar Ruiz Chaperón, General Director of Free Zones of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries (MICI) was re-elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Free Zones of the Americas (AZFA), which brings together more than 600 free zones from 25 countries .

 

“We are pleased by the trust placed by the members of the Association, who gave us their unanimous vote to participate again in the board of directors. Panama has demonstrated activism and commitment in promoting and sustaining the free trade zone regime as a formula for attracting investment, promoting entrepreneurship, creating stable jobs, improving the professional qualification of our workforce, incorporating of new technologies, and in general, that transfer of knowledge and those productive chains from which all citizens benefit, ”said the director of the MICI.

 

AZFA is a non-profit entity that, in its regional context, promotes and defends the free zone regime through integrations, investigations and cooperation with the public and private sectors of all Ibero-American countries. Currently, it is constituted as the most important regional union of free zones.
