President urges governors to be ready for vaccination in schools in the interior of the country.

The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, announced to the governors that they continue to prepare to begin in the schools of the provinces the vaccination process against Covid-19 in phase 2, with adults over 60 years of age and people with disabilities .

In the act of delivery of benefits of the National Government, held this afternoon at the Livestock Auction in Espinal, Los Santos, the president pointed out that between April and May the country could receive a little more vaccines and thus conclude with the large circuits in Panama City. He stressed that after the province of Panama Oeste, where it is intended to cover 4 districts in a week, Phase 2 will begin in the interior. He reiterated that despite the low rates of positivity of those infected with Covid19, "we are facing a treacherous virus that has already shown it in several European countries, which have returned to strict quarantines." Cortizo Cohen reiterated the great support that the Government has received from producers and local government during the pandemic. "The country has not been without food for a day," he added. "Without the support of producers and local governments, the Panama Solidario Plan would not have achieved the recognition of the IDB and the OAS," said the president.
