First Lady delivers a donation of tents and chairs to the National Oncological Institute

The donation includes a total of two awnings, valued at B /. 11,614.20; that will help make waiting for patients and families more comfortable. Around 400 patients attend the National Cancer Institute daily with their families. For biosecurity measures, many of them have to wait outside. Additionally, the Office of the First Lady donated 25 folding chairs, 4 fans, 2 televisions and other supplies.


The First Lady of the Republic, Yazmín Colón de Cortizo, together with her team from the Directorate of Social Projection, delivered two awnings and 25 folding chairs to the National Oncological Institute.

These two awnings will be able to accommodate around 100 people. In addition, the Office of the First Lady donated 25 folding chairs, 4 fans for the awnings, 2 televisions for the waiting rooms, and soap and mask kits.

ION collaborators lead an initiative called "Happy Giving Corner" in which they deliver food to patients who require a high caloric intake and do not have the financial means to buy enough. For this, the Firm made a donation of 20 bags of food, tetrapack and Nestum milk.

In order to improve the conditions of the waiting area for patients and relatives who come to the National Cancer Institute, the donated awnings will be located at the main entrance and will be available to ION visitors. Every day, around 400 patients receive care in the different wards; many are accompanied by their relatives.

"For me, being able to support the National Cancer Institute is very important, this bit will help patients and their families to wait for their appointment or care in more comfortable conditions. We will continue to await any other help we can provide to this hospital." added Yazmín Colón de Cortizo, First Lady of the Republic.
