“This Government is bringing safe and effective vaccines; I believe in our health authorities and in science; That is why today, as a volunteer, I received the first AstraZeneca vaccine against Covid-19 in the Rommel Fernández autoexpress ”, said the Vice President and Minister of the Presidency, José Gabriel Carrizo Jaén.

Carrizo Jaén, accompanied in the same vehicle by the Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre; the Minister for Health, Eyra Ruiz; and the director of the Gorgas Commemorative Institute for Health Studies, Juan Pascale, placed the vaccine in the autoexpress lane, initiating voluntary vaccination with AstraZeneca vaccines that will be used for men over 30 years old and women over 50 years on.

The vice president assured that the National Government “has worked hand in hand with the health authorities, the Health Advisory Council and, extensively, with the health personnel of Panama, to ensure that safe and efficient vaccines reach the country to combat the disease. Covid-19 ".

“The best vaccine that exists is the vaccine that is given. All strengthen defenses, prevent complications and hospitalizations; in the case of catching the virus, they help people to be less affected, "he said.

He reiterated his confidence in the health authorities and urged Panamanians to get the AstraZeneca vaccine. "I have volunteered because I believe that we must set the example and we must eliminate any doubts that exist against the vaccine," said the vice president.
