PANAMA FOREIGN OFFICE IS RECOGNIZED AS AN OUTSTANDING PARTNER OF SOUTH-SOUTH AND TRIANGULAR COOPERATION OF THE UNITED NATIONS

The Government of the Republic of Panama welcomes the invitation of the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Panama to participate as a leading partner of South-South and Triangular Cooperation in the platform “South-South Galaxy.”

“South-South Galaxy” is a global knowledge-sharing and partnership-building platform created by UNOSSC, where government institutions, United Nations agencies, academic centres, civil society organizations and development partners meet. They connect, exchange knowledge and generate partnerships to promote South-South and triangular cooperation.

Panama's participation in the South-South Galaxy platform is the result of an excellent relationship between the Vice Ministry of Multilateral Affairs and Cooperation of the Ministry and the UNOSSC, which through its Directorate of International Cooperation, provides the opportunity to share knowledge and Panama's experiences in South-South and Triangular cooperation and the solutions for development generated from them.

As a Featured Partner in 2024, the Foreign Ministry presents the Catalog of South-South and Triangular Cooperation of the Republic of Panama and three good practices or “solutions” related to health, water and sanitation, and inequality. These are an example of the technical support and continuous dialogue that the Ministry maintains with other Panamanian institutions, in order to give greater visibility to the growing national capabilities and its interest in connecting with other experiences abroad.
