First Lady's Office provides social assistance to communities in the Capira district

Social assistance was provided with donations to about 150 families from three communities in the La Trinidad district in the Capira district. About 13 pre-media students received tablets. Together with Mides and Meduca, the computer room was adapted and eight laptops were donated.


The Office of the First Lady of the Republic, led by Yazmín Colón de Cortizo, carried out an inter-institutional social assistance tour this Tuesday in the La Florida community, La Trinidad district, Capira district, Panama Oeste province.

"From the Office we continue to work in coordination with different institutions to provide donations, health care and infrastructure improvements," said the first lady.

About 150 families from the La Florida, La Tagua and Nueva Arenosa communities benefited with different donations. In addition, donations were given to 13 families with a member with special needs.

Likewise, the First Lady's Office delivered tablets to 13 high school students. 

Likewise, the computer room was adapted and Wi-Fi was installed. In addition, the Ministry of Education installed 8 laptops that were donated by the Ministry of Social Development (MIDES).

Other donations were six sets of tables and chairs for the school cafeteria and six small tables and chairs for the preschool classroom. 

In the activity, which took place at the La Florida General Basic Center, an inter-institutional fair was held with the participation of entities from the technical board, including the Ministry of Health and the Social Security Fund with pediatric and adult care. , vaccination, placement of contraceptive implant, animal health and others.

There was also the sale of agricultural products by the Agricultural Marketing Institute.

To close, a party was held for the students with amenities thanks to the National Aeronaval Service (SENAN) and the National Border Service (SENAFRONT).

Accompanying the first lady were the Minister of Education, Maruja Gorday de Villalobos, the Vice Governor of Panama West and the regional directors of education and health of Panama West.
