Giselle González Villarrué, Minister of Culture, led the meeting in which María Isabel Arrocha, consultant for the drafting and coordination of the nomination file, and Linette Montenegro, National Director of Cultural Heritage of MiCultura, provided a summary to the attendees about what the nomination consists of. , its components and what it would represent for the country, but above all for tourism, the declaration of this serial asset that integrates sites of the isthmus that are part of the country's cultural heritage, such as the fortifications of the Panamanian Caribbean, located in the province of Columbus, the monumental complexes of Panama City, among others.

During the exhibition, the progress made by this country proposal was noted, which has already been presented to UNESCO, through Elia Guerra, Panama's ambassador to the international organization.

Present at the presentation of this information day was Yill Otero, vice minister of bilateral affairs and cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an allied entity that has joined the efforts to achieve the declaration of the country project, Transisthmian Colonial Route, considered a system communication that connected the Atlantic and the Pacific and through which all the wealth passed to Spain.

Regarding this day, Linette Montenegro, National Director of Cultural Heritage of MiCultura, stressed that “we decided to present to different embassies that are part of the World Heritage Committee, the nomination proposal that we took to UNESCO in February 2023 with the aim of giving to know what the proposal of this Trans-Isthmic Colonial Route of Panama represents for our country, which is an asset of historical-cultural tourism that we want to promote, emphasizing all the benefits that the proposal has, its universal and exceptional value.
