SIGNING OF COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE DIPLOMATIC ACADEMY OF PANAMA AND THE PRESTIGIOUS COLLEGE OF EUROPE

The signing of this Agreement represents an important milestone for our Diplomatic Academy, since it is the first cooperation agreement that the prestigious house of studies signs with a Latin American country. This action underlines the commitment of both parties to academic excellence and professional development in the diplomatic field.


The Ernesto Castillero Pimentel Diplomatic Academy of Panama, represented by Ambassador Yavel Francis Lanuza, Ambassador of Panama in Belgium, and the College of Europe, under the direction of its rector, Federica Mogherini, signed a Cooperation Agreement on May 28 to strengthen academic and diplomatic cooperation between both institutions at the headquarters in Bruges, Belgium. The negotiation of the Agreement was carried out jointly with the participation of the Director of the Academy, Ambassador Edgar Spence Herrera, who attaches great importance to this instrument in the field of training and training of Diplomatic and Consular Career officials and for future diplomats of the country.

The agreement is formalized just after the recent appointment of the College of Europe to implement the pilot program of the European Diplomacy Academy, administered with the External External Action Service of the European Union;

Ambassador Francis Lanuza expressed her enthusiasm for this new agreement, stating: “We are excited to formalize this cooperation with the College of Europe, an institution internationally recognized for its academic excellence in diplomatic training and international relations. “This agreement will open new opportunities for our students and academics, fostering our students’ greater understanding of our regions.”

For her part, the rector of the College of Europe highlighted the importance of this agreement for the institution: “We are proud to have been able to sign this agreement, which is the first signed with a Latin American country. “We look forward to starting this valuable cooperation.”
