TRANSITION BEGINS IN THE AGRICULTURAL MARKETING INSTITUTE

This first meeting served to present to the new IMA authorities a detailed report on the main efforts carried out by the institution, highlighting the Food Solidarity programs and their components of agricultural fairs, agricultural stores and agro-distributors.

At the headquarters of the Agricultural Marketing Institute (IMA), the first transition meeting was held between the outgoing director of the entity, Carlo Rognoni, and his designated successor, Nilo Murillo.

This first meeting served to present to the new IMA authorities a detailed report on the main efforts carried out by the institution, highlighting the Food Solidarity programs and their components of agricultural fairs, agricultural stores and agro-distributors.

Carlo Rognoni stated at the time that all information about the Institute will be transferred to the new director, with the purpose of guaranteeing a solvent and smooth transition.

«We are confident that the new director will do an excellent job and will evaluate all experiences to determine if current plans should continue to be developed under the same parameters. We are confident that many aspects will be improved, so it is important to provide peace of mind to the institution, our collaborators and our clients," Rognoni pointed out.

Furthermore, Rognoni highlighted that the entity had received an extraordinary amount, which had been used to strengthen the institution from a financial point of view, thus allowing it to meet the commitments acquired with suppliers, not only from the agribusiness, but also from small producers.

For his part, the designated director, Nilo Murillo, indicated that the fairs are very important activities that must be maintained, like the other programs of the institution. He also mentioned that other components will be reviewed and improved if necessary.

In addition, issues related to the facilities and services that the IMA offers to support producers in the treatment, storage and marketing of their crops were addressed.

This meeting marks the beginning of the transfer of leadership at the IMA, with the objective of ensuring a smooth transition and guaranteeing the continuity of actions and programs that benefit the country's producers and consumers.
