Committed to improving the quality of care in the Comprehensive Early Childhood Care Centers (CAIPI), the Ministry of Social Development (MIDES) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) gave 46 educational agents (teachers, administrators, assistants and technical staff) from the Central, Eastern and Northern regions of Panama, diploma certificates in Strengthening the Quality of the Early Childhood Ecosystem in Panama.

This training was taught by AeioTU (Colombia) staff, who taught 10 training modules with specific topics such as the development of boys and girls, and respectful, conscious and loving education.

The application of these modules contributes to the quality of early childhood care through the updating and alignment of the “Training and Mentoring Program for CAIPI teachers in Panama”, taking as a reference the current public policy on education for boys and girls from 0 to 3 years old based on the educational experience of the foundation.

The knowledge acquired by the educational agents and the MIDES technical team will be helpful in supporting, monitoring and evaluating the quality of educational practices within the CAIPI.

“This process promotes the review, updating and reflection of the knowledge and skills of educational agents, strengthening their interventions in the exercise of a responsible and committed practice for early childhood education and care,” highlighted the vice minister of MIDES, Ricardo. Adolfo Landero.

Vice Minister Landero thanked the IDB for its commitment to early childhood in Panama and, specifically, for supporting the improvement of the quality of the CAIPI in the well-being of boys and girls, one of the main commitments of the administration of the president of the José Raúl Mulino Republic.
