The National Crafts Fair organized by the Ministry of Culture and which will take place from June 19 to 23 at the ATLAPA Convention Center with the participation of nearly 400 artisans will be part of the Visit Panama calendar promoted by the Panama Tourism Authority.

The announcement was made known during the meeting with the national press, where the head of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué, provided the details of the organization of the Forty-Fourth version of the FNA, which is the second that is carried out under the responsibility of MiCultura and that this year is dedicated to “traditional clothing making techniques.”

Like the previous year, this fair will be the showcase for Panamanian artisans in more than ten activities to show their products to national and foreign visitors, said Minister González Villarrué, who recalled that last year sales were close to a million dollars.

Minister González Villarrué especially appreciated that the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP) has added the FNA to the Visit Panama calendar, because this is a tool that enhances the possibility of achieving more product sales.

Villarrué expects that this year the economic and visitor figures of last year will be exceeded, which was approximately 49 thousand people and revealed that among the attractions there will be interactions so that attendees can connect with the artisans when they are in the process of making the crafts, in especially the construction of a Quincha House.

In addition, this year there will be two stages unlike last year when there was only one and where typical music groups and national folk groups will perform.

It should be noted that MiCultura held the “Postulated Artisan” draw that grants a physical space at the 2024 National Crafts Fair to each of the winning Master Artisans in 11 categories.
