Miviot will pay commitments with B/.127.8 million of additional approved credit

The Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning (Miviot) will honor its pending commitments with promoters of the Housing Solidarity Fund and contractors, after the approval of an extraordinary credit by the Budget Commission of the National Assembly.

This is an additional credit from the National Government, for 650 million balboas, distributed among more than 12 institutions and supported by the Vice Minister of Economy, Carlos González, where Miviot, represented by Minister Rogelio Paredes, was assigned 127 million 835 one thousand 557 balboas.

According to the Miviot Programming and Budget Directorate, 100 million balboas will be allocated for pending commitments of the Housing Solidarity Fund, where 9,975 economic contributions from the 10,000 balboas bonus will be disbursed, for the first home of families who acquire houses with a value of up to 70 thousand balboas.

The rest of the additional amount approved, 27 million 835 thousand 557 balboas, is to complete the payments of the projects and/or programs managed by the institution, such as Recovering My Barrio, the Miguel “Mickey” Sierra residential project that is being built in the district. of San Miguelito, among others.

When addressed in the Assembly, Minister Paredes explained that they had a debt with the promoters of approximately 107 million balboas, of which 100 million balboas will be used to assume those payments, corresponding to the years 2022-2023.

“We are putting the accounts in order, 100 million balboas are directed to the Housing Solidarity Fund and the other 27 million balboas to pay commitments from contractors who have already presented their collection efforts and we had it accumulated there,” he explained.

Paredes pointed out that the full extraordinary item had been approved two weeks ago in the Cabinet Council, but the step of supporting and receiving approval from the Budget Commission of the Legislative Body was missing, which had not occurred due to the urgency of the general elections.
