Mulino meets with Suntracs representatives

The President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, held a meeting, in the Palacio de las Garzas, with the representatives of the Single Union of Construction and Similar Workers (Suntracs), where the Government promised not to exert any type of pressure against unions like this.

Mulino reiterated that his Government will end any type of persecution or political pressure on citizens, institutions or organizations, as well as guarantee that there will be no preferential treatment.

He stated that they will hold meetings with the different sectors, calling for dialogue and the search for solutions to avoid complications in the lives of Panamanians.

After this, it was reported that the National Bank of Panama (BNP), in compliance with the institution's requirements, will allow the use of the accounts that the organization has in that institution to be able to carry out financial activities exclusive to the operation of Suntracs.

The Panamanian president was accompanied by the Minister of Labor, Jackeline Muñoz and the Minister of Security, Frank Ábrego. While the leaders Saúl Méndez and Genaro López participated on behalf of Suntracs.

Both parties also talked about the importance of guaranteeing the right of citizens to protest, but while respecting the right of free movement. Mulino affirmed that the Government will comply with and enforce the Constitution.
