Prominent leaders from the business, government and educational sectors gathered at the “Talent in Panama: Challenges and Opportunities” forum, a key initiative to promote synergy between these sectors, organized by the Chamber of Multinational Company Headquarters (CASEM), in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and Industries of Panama (MICI) and City of Knowledge, who offered deep perspectives on talent development in the current context.

During the opening ceremony of this academic event, the Minister of Commerce and Industries, Jorge Rivera Staff, highlighted that “the development of human talent and the workforce are fundamental for the economic growth of the country. It is necessary to implement measures that promote competitiveness and innovation to maintain Panama as an attractive destination for investments and the installation of multinational companies.”

Rivera Staff positively valued the fact that multinational companies have invested more than 1.2 billion dollars and generated nearly 11 thousand direct jobs in Panama since its creation in 2007, through Law 41.

For his part, Tony Roldán, president and executive director of CASEM, stated that “as a union, we want to actively contribute to the national agenda. We seek to be a bridge between the public and private sectors to reach agreements that allow us to face the challenges related to the demand of the labor market and the supply of the educational sector and at CASEM, we are carrying out strategic alliances with institutions, universities and private companies to provide tangible solutions, such as access to job boards, intern placement programs and workshops for the development of skills of students and professionals,” he commented.

During the event, innovative strategies were discussed to improve the competitiveness of the country's professionals, addressing both present challenges and future opportunities to promote sustainable and dynamic growth in the labor market.
