Colmena Plan will generate projects in favor of 387 thousand Panamanians from East Panama


Complying with the commitment to promote social development in the most vulnerable communities, the Technical Secretariat of the Social Cabinet installed today, the Colmena Table in the East Panama region that will benefit 387 thousand 355 Panamanians from the townships with the highest indices of poverty.

The table was installed in the Fernando Guardia Jaén School, located in the Pacora district by the governor, Carla García, and the Minister of Social Development, María Inés Castillo, participated as a witness of honor, who highlighted the importance of this strategy for the benefit from the country.

The Colmena Plan will benefit the townships of Las Garzas, Tocumen, San Martín, Las Mañanitas, Pedregal and December 24, which have high rates of multidimensional poverty.

"We are implementing this territorial intervention strategy to serve as a priority those who need it most to combat poverty and hunger, guaranteeing the economic and social rights of citizens," said the head of the social portfolio.

With the installation of the work table, the Technical Board made up of the government and local authorities will develop open councils in order to determine, together with organized society, the main deficiencies in the communities.
