Plan Progreso reaches 51 low-income families in Macaracas and Tonosí

Plan Progreso is one of the main programs developed by Miviot at the national level and consists of the construction of a complete housing solution with the option of expanding it for the greater comfort of the family or for a business.


Full of joy and happiness and sure of a future with a better quality of life, 51 families residing in the districts of Macaracas and Tonosí, province of Los Santos, received the keys to their new homes from the Social Residential Gradual Program, better known as Plan Progress.

 

There are 26 houses that were delivered by the Minister of Housing and Territorial Planning (Miviot), Rogelio Paredes, and that are located in the towns of Macaracas, Bajo de Güera, Bahía Honda, Llano de Piedra, Chupá and Mogollón, in Macaracas; and 25 residences in the districts of Isla Cañas, Tonosí, La Tronosa, Cambutal, El Cortezo, El Cacao and El Bebedero, in Tonosí.

The people who benefit from this program are those living in poverty, extreme poverty and those with disabilities, where the Directorate of Social Development is in charge of carrying out the respective socioeconomic evaluations of each one and from there the decision is made to provide the benefit.

 

On this occasion, one of the extremely poor families to which this benefit was granted was that of Johana Delgado, 26 years old, who lives with her spouse José Herrera, 34 years old, and their two children, Milagros and Jonathan Herrera, 9 and 6 years old, respectively.

 

This family residing in Tonosí, in the community of Plan Bonito, district of La Tronosa, lived in a structure in poor condition, whose construction was made up of walls of wooden boards, roofs of reeds and zinc, and a concrete and earth floor. It has the basic services of rural aqueduct water, electricity and latrine.
