President Cortizo Cohen highlights that his government was “open doors” with the business sector

The president participated in the inauguration of the board of directors of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama for the period 2024-2025, which will be chaired by Juan Alberto Arias Strunz. The President-elect of Panama, José Raúl Mulino, also attended the activity of the business union.

The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, reiterated that his administration was “open doors” with the members of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP), while thanking them for their support, solidarity and sense of Homeland that this union demonstrated during the pandemic, and its effort to achieve the rapid economic recovery of the country, one of the best in the region.

President Cortizo Cohen's words were given last night during his speech at the inauguration ceremony of the new Board of Directors of the CCIAP for the period 2024-2025, which will be chaired by Juan Alberto Arias Strunz.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank all the members of the CCIAP for the support, solidarity and sense of Homeland shown during the worst crisis in our history, the pandemic. Likewise, I recognize the effort and commitment of its members as a fundamental part of achieving our rapid post-pandemic economic recovery, the best in the region,” said the president, who was accompanied by his wife, Yazmín Colón de Cortizo.

Cortizo Cohen recalled that during the five years of his presidential administration “I was always present at the inauguration events of the CCIAP board of directors and at the inaugurations of Expocomer,” while highlighting that his government has been “ open doors” with the business sector and that the members of the Chamber are witnesses of this, since he attended to them personally every time they requested a meeting, and also answered their messages.

He recognized the close and frank collaboration that he maintained with the different former presidents of the CCIAP during the five years of his mandate. I wish success to the new president of the union and his board of directors.
