President Cortizo Cohen invites organized workers to return to the Dialogue for the Social Security Fund.

Workers' leaders will consult with the bases return to the dialogue table.


The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, met with representatives of the Confederation of Organized Workers (CONATO) and the National Council of Private Enterprise (CONEP) to invite workers to once again be part of the dialogue table for the Social Security Fund.

The CONATO leaders, sitting at the meeting, unanimously stated that they want to be part of the actions that are approved regarding the future of the Social Security Fund, but they must raise this possibility with their bases so that it is a consensual decision.

During the positive meeting held in the Peace Room of the Presidency of the Republic, both representatives of workers and businessmen recognized that this has been the government administration that has most met with the productive sector of the country, represented by both unions. .

For two hours, Cortizo Cohen, accompanied by the Minister of Labor Doris Zapata, listened to the proposals of the labor sector, in relation to the importance of rejoining the Social Security Dialogue, a position that was endorsed by the businessmen who participated in the meeting.

Eduardo Gil, a member of CONATO, regretted the union's departure from the dialogue table, adding that it is urgent to find a solution for the Social Security Fund.

"We are clear that there are points on which we are going to disagree, but it is more important to present those points of view at the table to find intermediate positions and that this dialogue brings the solutions to save Social Security," said Gil.

The workers also asked at the meeting to join the International Labor Organization (ILO) to advise the technical aspects of this dialogue, since said entity has played a very important role in hundreds of processes related to social security around the world
