President Cortizo Cohen highlighted that the insured population of this populous district, which has registered considerable urban and commercial growth, required a larger and more modern health facility that would also offer a new concept of care to users.

He noted that the new Basic Polyclinic, built with an investment of more than B/.21 million, is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including an innovative robotic pharmacy to speed up the delivery of medications.

He indicated that the facility will provide coverage to more than 100,000 people residing in the area, which will contribute to decongesting the services offered by the J. J. Vallarino Polyclinic, which currently serves this population of San Miguelito.

For his part, the director of the CSS, Enrique Lau Cortés, pointed out that the new polyclinic, which will begin serving the public on June 24, will have a care model focused on disease prevention through a single appointment at patient, who will receive the medical services he requires and the respective treatments.

Lau highlighted that his administration at the head of the CSS, with the support of President Cortizo Cohen and the Board of Directors of the CSS, leaves the population assured of the Chitré polyclinics, in Herrera; and San Juan, in Colón; the hospitals of Puerto Armuelles, in Chiriquí, and Almirante, in Bocas del toro; the new towers of the Rafael Hernández Hospital, in David; the Penonomé Polyclinic, in Coclé, and the expansion of the Chepo Hospital, as well as the crowning work, the City of Health.
