First official transition meeting held in Miviot

The incoming authorities received detailed reports on budgetary matters, projects, progress and scope in the 2019-2024 management.


Within the Government transition process, the first official meeting was held between the current authorities of the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning (Miviot) and those designated by the elected president of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, starting next July 1 .

This meeting, headed by the entity's minister, Rogelio Paredes, together with his successor, engineer Jaime Jované, took place in the Superior Office of the Miviot, with the participation of the current and designated vice ministers, in addition to both teams. of work.

Daniela Martínez, Deputy Minister of Housing, participated in the activity; José Batista, vice minister of Territorial Planning; as well as the general secretary, Marta Amado and the directors Marcos Suira (Engineering and Architecture), Orfilio Acosta (Budget), Minerva de Miranda (Private Investment Promotion) and Mary Carmen Rodríguez (Single Window).

For the incoming Government were Fernando Méndez, appointed Deputy Minister of Housing; Frank Osorio, Vice Minister of Territorial Planning and the work team that he will accompany in the 2024-2029 five-year period.

In a presentation, Paredes explained the status of the works that were carried out in the country, the scope of work on housing improvement for the rehabilitation and construction of homes, as well as the support for legalizing informal settlements.

Also, he delved into the efforts to adapt the Housing Solidarity Fund program to the present, which provides a contribution of 10 thousand balboas for the first home, where there is an ongoing payment process to promoters and there are 218 active promoters, with 249 Projects.

Another highlight was the great boost in the Single Window Directorate, which achieved a decentralization of its offices to speed up work in the provinces and reduce time in the paperwork of the different construction processes.

For his part, the designated minister Jované showed interest in following up on the projects that remain in execution, as a matter of State, as well as attending to others that maintain some technicalities for their completion.

As a protocol act, Paredes gave Jované the 2019-2024 Accountability Report, an 88-page document that summarizes the work, delivery of benefits, achievements, as well as the work in favor of territorial planning.
